Membership Process


What’s Involved
Individual Membership in the Association is a simple process.
For new member applications we require the submission of:

Full Member:

  • Counselling qualifications authenticated by a Justice of the Peace (JP)
  • Proof of employment as a practicing counsellor e.g. a letter on letterhead from employer or statutory declaration from you if you are self employed (which does not need to be verified by a JP)
  • Proof of public liability and professional indemnity insurance
  • Evidence of a current supervision agreement
  • A letter of application

Provisional Member:

  • Counselling qualifications authenticated by a Justice of the Peace (JP)
  • A letter of application

Student Member:

  • A letter outlining the students current study program and a copy of the letter of offer into the training institution or other reasonable verification of the current study
  • A letter of application

For Full member renewals or upgrades we require the submission of:

  • Proof of (continued) employment as a practicing counsellor e.g. a letter on letterhead from employer or statutory declaration from you if you are self employed (which does not need to be verified by a JP)
  • Proof of public liability and professional indemnity insurance
  • Evidence of a current supervision agreement
