Membership Process
What’s Involved
Individual Membership in the Association is a simple process.
For new member applications we require the submission of:
Full Member:
- Counselling qualifications authenticated by a Justice of the Peace (JP)
- Proof of employment as a practicing counsellor e.g. a letter on letterhead from employer or statutory declaration from you if you are self employed (which does not need to be verified by a JP)
- Proof of public liability and professional indemnity insurance
- Evidence of a current supervision agreement
- A letter of application
Provisional Member:
- Counselling qualifications authenticated by a Justice of the Peace (JP)
- A letter of application
Student Member:
- A letter outlining the students current study program and a copy of the letter of offer into the training institution or other reasonable verification of the current study
- A letter of application
For Full member renewals or upgrades we require the submission of:
- Proof of (continued) employment as a practicing counsellor e.g. a letter on letterhead from employer or statutory declaration from you if you are self employed (which does not need to be verified by a JP)
- Proof of public liability and professional indemnity insurance
- Evidence of a current supervision agreement
